I am Andrea. Some call me Dre. I am a mom, an academic, and a runner. I received my Ph.D. in Sport Communication from the University of Alabama where I studied gender issues, stereotypes, visual communication, and entertainment theory in relation to sport media. Prior to attending Alabama, I received my Masters in Communication, Culture and Technology from Georgetown University, where I studied Health and Political Communication. My undergraduate degree is from Clemson University in Mass Communication and Journalism. Previously, I was an adjunct professor at Trinity University and University of the Incarnate Word. Currently, I am a professional long distance runner for Oiselle. I have completed 46 marathons since 2002, a ten-time Boston qualifier, and a 2016 Olympic Marathon Trials Qualifier. My two beautiful children are Noah, 7 and Madeline, 4.
